FAQ

Our teachers are very highly skilled musicians and instructors, possessing various degrees and performance experience. We have struck a balance between high quality and low rates, and our rates vary depending on the teacher and the demand for their instruction with our rates.

For beginners, the answer is definitely yes. When you are first learning, you’re getting a lot of new and in some cases confusing information given to you. The amount of information given in one 30 minutes lesson will give you a lot to work on as you practice throughout the week. Practicing is absolutely essential to learning music. As you get to more advanced skills, more time may be necessary if and when your teacher recommends it.

There is no specific date, number of lessons or length of time since it depends on a few factors including how often students practice. We are confident that we can have the most beginner of students playing simple songs by the end of their 3-lesson trial, but if you are hoping to play Mozart, etc., it will take more time. Learning to play a musical instrument can potentially be a lifelong pursuit depending on what your goals are and so patience is also very important. If you manage to practice at least 10 to 15 minutes every day, you’ll be well on your way to reaching your goals and your progress will be good.

Yes, absolutely! Practicing is essential to learning music, and if you don’t have an instrument available at home, then your only practice will be at your lesson with your teacher, which makes for very slow progress, and can be frustrating for everyone involved. Students who choose not to invest in an instrument are doing themselves an incredible disservice and greatly hinder their development. Consider, for example, an NFL player who is required to possess high physical abilities for weekly games, but does not exercise between games. The principle is the same. If students are not ready to purchase, maybe unsure if they will like it once they try it, then renting is the right option, and with our contract buyout option, the rental payments are not wasted. Additionally, during our 3-lesson trial, the rental fee is waived.

The short answer is that we require at least 24 hours notice for any cancellation. The lesson time has been reserved for one specific student, and that time is perishable and nearly impossible to re-allocate to another student. However, there are exceptions and it is highly recommended that before signing up, students read our centre policies to familiarize themselves with how our centre handles certain situations.

WHEN OUR STUDENTS JOIN OUR LESSONS, MANY GO ON TO TAKE A GRADE EXAMINATION IN THEIR CHOSEN INSTRUMENT AND PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVELS THROUGH TO COMPLETION.
